How to Keep Woodpeckers Away from Your Home?

Woodpeckers can create a nesting or a roosting site inside your home or in your garden to search for insects for food, to establish their own territory, or to attract mates. They can be a real nuisance-causing hundreds of dollars of damage to you.

Woodpeckers drum on all types of objects, including those made out of wood, plastic, and stucco. They damage cedar, rough pine, and redwood siding and even stucco finishes. They hammer all day on the side of homes, telephone poles, trees, and other noisy areas. Woodpeckers love the loud sounds that they produce. They can create costly damage for you-preventing them from entering your home is therefore important.

There is not just any one method for controlling woodpeckers. In fact, there are several methods for controlling them that you may try and see what works best in deterring these pesky creatures from entering your peaceful abode.

You may make use of bird spikes and bird nettings as they act as physical barriers for preventing birds from entering gardens, backyards, terrace, and other areas where they are installed. Bird repellants and ultrasonic sound emitters are also effective in keeping woodpeckers and other birds away from homes, and other buildings. These devices produce sounds that scare away the birds and ensure that they do not enter your home.
