Food warehouses are the
favorite places of pigeons and other birds. They enter such buildings
in search of food. As warehouses have big bay doors that are left
open most of the times to allow trucks and grocery stuff to get in
and out, birds easily sneak into feast on food inside. Birds gather
just about everywhere in warehouses-on the roof, on the lids of
dumpsters, on stacks of wood pallets, nearby food containers, and so
on and so forth.
If you own a food
warehouse, here are some tips to help you prevent pigeons from
entering your building and spoiling your food items.
Put bird netting on roofs, terrace and courtyard to prevent pigeons from encroaching.
Bird netting blocks-off the entry of birds completely in the areas
where they are being put.
Pigeon spikes are also effective in pigeon control. They prevent pigeons from nesting on the
roof, on the ledge, and on other habitation areas.
Put up bird spikes on the
roof of your food warehouse. Birds get scared when they see spikes
that protrude upwards and do not dare to land on such areas.
You can also install
pigeon wires as they are an affordable and effective pigeon control
tools.
Bird repellents have a
long plastic base with multiple stainless steel wires that protrude
upwards in 4 different angles. You can make use of them to create
physical barriers to prevent pigeon encroachment.
